After enduring the horrors of the war in eastern Ukraine since 2014, three young veterans return home. As they struggle to find their place in daily life as civilians, the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 throws them right back into the trauma they have tried so hard to escape.

CAST AND CREW

Yuliia Hontaruk was born on March 6th, 1987. She graduated Thermal Energy and Process Engineering from National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Politechnic Institute» in 2009. She studied film directing at The National University of theatre, cinema and television of Karpenko-Kary between 2007 and 2012 (Myhailo Pavlov Workshops/Led by Myhailo Pavlov). Since 2013 she is a member of The National Union of Cinematographists in Ukraine. With a beginning of The Euromaidan Yuliia became one of the creative association “Babylon’13” formers. Now she makes a new full-length documentary related to the War in Eastern Ukraine.

Another Ukrainian coproduction has been supported by Slovak Audiovisual Fund. Feature documentary Company of Steel directed by Yulia Hontaruk brings very current and important story. Read more here.
