ABOUT
In 1980 communist Czechoslovakia, Mara dreams of leaving her village to study in the city and become a pilot. But her father, a Ruthenian farmer and widower, insists she stays and works the land. As their village faces destruction because of a new water reservoir, their generational conflict intensifies, revealing the struggle between tradition, identity, and the desire for freedom against a backdrop of historical change.

CAST AND CREW

Martin is a graduate of the Film and Television Faculty at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), where he earned his master’s degree in film and television directing. His graduation film PURA VIDA had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in the Cinéfondation section. He has recently completed his debut feature FLOOD and is currently developing a fiction film DEVILS and a mini-series ANGEL MAKERS.
